Following the conclusion of the State Assembly Election in Ondo State; particularly Ondo West Constituency I, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC - Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, popularly known as 'OMO" has been declared the winner of the election. He defeated the incumbent Hon. Tomide, who had be representing Ondo West Constituency I for years.

Omo, a young and vibrant Youth who hails from Okorowo Street, Ondo City in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, pulled the majority votes to defeate his two rivals - Hon. Tomide Akinribido of the People's Democratic Party, PDP and that of Social Democratic Party, SDP - Ademoloye Azeez Adekunle known as "AZ".

Hon. Tomide of the PDP, who was the incumbent Hon. representing Ondo West Constituency I had 3,966 votes; Ademoloye Azeez had 2,594 votes; while Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju pulled a total of 8,456 votes and was declared the winner, having pulled the total majority votes.
While expressing his gratuitide, Otunba Moyinolorun appreciated all his supporters and well-wishers acorss Ondo State and beyond.

Mainwhile, his opponent - Ademoloye Azeez, AZ has congratulated the winner of Ondo West Constituency I House of Assembly Election in Ondo State - Otunba Moyinolorun, on his emergence. In a congratulatory statement released and signed by the SDP Candidate, he urged all aggrieved persons who might felt disappointed with the whole outcome to kindly let it slide.
His Statement reads in part, "I am using this medium to humbly acknowledge the good people of Ondo Kingdom, our paramount ruler Osemawe; HRM, Oba Adesimbo Victor Kiladejo, Jilo III and all noble chieftains of various tiers. My unreserved regards to all our political leaders irrespective of their parties, my supporters, non-supporters, assailants and the electoral commission that facilitated the conduct of the just concluded exercise. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all my ardent supporters that entrusted me with their interests and cast their votes for me at the polls. Most importantly to God Almighty who saw us through the whole process. Judging from my very own view, I can attest that no fatality was recorded in all of this and no cases of ballot box snatchings. For this purpose, I am appreciative.
